Final Draft
I. Theme
- Animal print designes on the projects that fit to the shape of the prints.
this shows movement from the prints by the way they are put on the projects.
-using different glazes and stains and adding and altering clay to create an animal or
any other print. this makes it to be personalized.
II. What
- Plates, bowls, and vases are under-glazed and stained to paint on the
design of the animal print being done.
- A tea-pot, pitchers and cups are all made with pulled clay added on or
just altered to create what is being made such as an elephant tea-pot.
- also a jar that has been altered by carving the prints into the clay instead of adding clay,
giving you a different affect than the other projects.
III. How
- Projects that are created to paint the prints have nothing added
or taken away from them. the prints are painted on my projects in ways that show
movement on my projects with them. the stains and under- glazes where eperimented
to create these projects.
-Adding clay on to projects gives it more detail and a more personalized look to my
projects. these prjects are usually glazed A simple color so that the glazed doesnt
take the attetntion away from the personalization of the projects with pulled clay or
altered such as handles on cups.
-Carving clay from the projects shows a different way of using movement and
personalization with using a simple glaze and wiping off the glaze to outline the prints.
IV. Why
- Although with projects that are glazed, they are usually not created with a theme
that creates movement, personalization and detail. with prints, they can be painted
on anyway to show movement on the projects with two-d designs. adding and altering the
clay to create a different view in three-d creates a more detailed vision of the movement in
the clay and gives it detail. by altering the clay with carving it gives a new way to show properties
with the glaze.
V. Conclusion
-Eventhough i have experimented before and become successful creating new ideas
for how to use clay, i also have learned some new skills and came up with a better
understanding on how to alter the clay and glazes to get the design of movement and
personalization on my projects. it has allowed me to get a better feel of the clay and
all the new ideas and designs i can be successful in persuing for other future project not
just in ceramics but in art in general.
